MARGARET IRENE LOPEZ

A longtime and proud resident of Mesilla, New Mexico, Margaret spent much of her life caring for her home and those she loved. She appreciated life's simple joys and had a love for fashion and personal style that reflected her unique spirit. She was proud to call Mesilla home and cherished the community, traditions, and memories she built there throughout the years.

Above all, Margaret treasured time spent with her loved ones. Whether through family gatherings, heartfelt conversations, or quiet moments together, she created lasting memories that will be carried in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Her warmth and presence will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Henry Lopez, with whom she shared 64 years of marriage; her sons, Victor Lopez and his wife, Jennifer Lopez, and Carlos Lopez; her six grandchildren, Juan Carlos, Christian, Danyka, Trevor, Ryan, and Lyndsey; her three great-grandchildren; her sisters, Priscilla Michell and her husband, Gary Michell, and Nancy Murillo and her husband, Henry Murillo; as well as many other family members and friends whose lives were touched by her presence.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Placido and Angelita Barraza.

While her passing leaves a space that cannot be filled, her memory will live on through the love she shared, the moments she created, and the family she leaves behind.

A celebration of Margaret's life will begin with the visitation at 10 AM Monday, June 15, 2026, at Baca's Funeral Chapel, 300 E. Boutz Road, with the Prayer Vigil at 11 AM. The Funeral Liturgy will take place immediately thereafter. The Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at San Albino Cemetery where she will be laid to rest in the family plot.

Serving as casket bearers will be Juan Carlos Lopez, Gavino Castaneda, Johnny Lopez, Richard Madrid, Sandra Lopez and Rene Talamantes.
