It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved brother, companion, uncle, and friend, LUIS NIETO, age 50, of Chamberino, NM on Wednesday, October 22, 2025. Luis was born on December 16, 1974, to Francisco and Guadalupe Nieto. He was an electrician by trade and also, worked in construction. He was a proud member of the Roman Catholic Church.

Luis was well known for his sense of humor and love of joking around—there was never a dull moment when he was near. His passions in life included fishing and caring for his dogs. And, of course, he was a devoted and lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan.

Those left to cherish his memory include his companion Eydie Olivas Ervine; his dog Spike; three sisters, Bertha Ochoa (Albuquerque), Nancy Segura (Anthony), and Terry Najera (Chamberino); as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Luis was preceded in death by his parents, Francisco and Guadalupe Nieto; his brother, Manuel Nieto; his daughter, Delilah Murillo; and his paternal and maternal grandparents.

He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him.

Cremation has taken place and Recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 9:30 AM Friday, November 14, 2025, at San Luis Rey Catholic Church, 204 S. San Luis Avenue, in Chamberino, with the Memorial Mass to follow immediately thereafter with The Reverend Alonso Quiñones, Celebrant. Inurnment of cremains will be held at the Chamberino Cemetery.
