LUCAS G. SINGH peacefully passes away Friday, July 25, 2025, at his home in Mesilla Park South, surrounded by family and friends.

Chito attended Gadsden High School, where he was captain of the basketball team his senior year, and was an All-State basketball contender. He helped the team climb to level of #3 in the State of New Mexico. He was awarded a full basketball scholarship from Western University in Silver City, New Mexico, but instead decided to pursue civil service work at WSMR, which lasted for 37 years.

Chito was also a member of two football championship teams and made All District Honors in his senior year. His civil service career was highlighted by three years of Dept. of the Army work as Logistics Manager serving in DaNang, Vietnam.

Chito was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-five years Otilia Munoz; his son Raymond Singh, and his parents, Lakha Singh and Paula Garcia Singh; brothers Margarito and Joe, sisters Isidra, Vicenta, Antonia, and Edna.

He is survived by son Anthony, and two stepsons, Nico and David, his children from a previous marriage, Jon, Diana, and Lahra; Goddaughter and niece, Becky Chavez, Godson and nephew, Dhano Singh, and Godson Mando Munoz; as well as four sisters, Rita, Tomasa, Teresa and Catalina, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The Funeral Mass will be held at 11 AM Friday, August 22, 2025, at The Basilica de San Albino 2070 Calle de Santiago in Mesilla. The Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the San Albino Cemetery where he will be laid to rest in the family plot.
