With profound sadness and deep love, the family of LORENZA RAMIREZ VEGA announces her peaceful passing on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at her home, surrounded by those who cherished her most. Known affectionately as "Lencha" to family and friends, she was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and dear friend whose warmth and devotion touched countless lives.

Born August 11, 1935, in La Mesa, New Mexico to Luz Reyes and Juan Ramirez, Lencha lived a life rooted in compassion, faith, and service. She dedicated her career to caregiving, offering comfort and dignity to those in need. A lifelong member of the Woman's Auxiliary and the Roman Catholic Church, her faith was a guiding light and source of strength throughout her life.

Lencha's legacy lives on through her children: George Vega (Martha), David Vega (Lulu), Danny Vega (Penny), and Nancy Vega; her brothers David Ramirez and Hector Ramirez; and her sisters Juanita Garces, Mary Lou Ramirez, Maxine Briceno, Tillie Vielma, Felicia Gallegos, and Mary Ann Avalos and numerous nieces and nephews. She was a proud grandmother and great-grandmother . Her extended family includes numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.

She is reunited in eternal peace with her parents, her son Tony Vega, her grandson Daniel Vega, her sister Bertha Paz, and her brothers Ricardo and Art Ramirez.

Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, 224 Lincoln Street in Anthony, NM. A Prayer Vigil will follow at 10:00 AM, with the Funeral Mass celebrated immediately thereafter. In accordance with her wishes, cremation will follow, and Inurnment of her cremains will be held at a later date.

Serving as Honorary casket bearers will be her grandsons, grand-daughters and great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the Vega family kindly requests that donations be made to St. Anthony Catholic Church in memory of Lencha, whose life was a testament to love, faith, and service.

Her spirit will live on in the stories shared, the traditions upheld, and the love that continues to bind her family together.
