LINDA KAYE THOMPSON

Linda "Kaye" Thompson, age 69, of Las Cruces, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, with her loving family at her side. Born May 13, 1957, in Iaeger, West Virginia, Linda was the daughter of Mary Franklin and Joe E. Musick.

The family moved to New Mexico when she was quite young. During her early years she developed a quiet strength, a generous heart, and a deep devotion to family—qualities she carried throughout her life.

Kaye married James Thompson in 1976. The pair made their home in California, where they built a life rooted in love, hard work, and family. She is preceded in death by husband James Thompson, both her parents and sister JoAnn Jones.

Kaye leaves behind her daughter Kimberly Mata and husband, Gabe; 2 grandsons, Isai and Ian Mata; sisters Joyce Combs and Janet Bilyeu; brother Joey Musick, and wife Susan; and many nieces, nephews and numerous friends.

Her family and friends will forever remember her laughter, her generosity, and the way she made every person feel valued and cared for.

A Memorial Service to honor and celebrate Kaye's life will be held at 6 PM on Friday, June 26, 2026, at Baca's Funeral Chapel, 300 E. Boutz Road. Inurnment of cremains will take place at a later date.

Linda's legacy lives on in the hearts of those who loved her. May she rest in eternal peace.
