It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, and aunt, LILY J. GARCIA, age 82.  She was summoned to Gods Kingdom in Heaven entering eternal life on Thursday April 10, 2025.  She was born November 7, 1942, in Anthony, New Mexico to Lorenzo and Socorro Jacques.

Lily is survived by her sisters, Alicia "Licha" and Nena (Richard) brother, Sonny (Luz), sister-in-law, Gladys and brother-in-law, Eloy; two sons, Benjamin Jr. (Rachael), and Thomas Sr. (Joann). three loving grandchildren, Jess, Morgan (Joel) and Thomas Jr. (Paola), and nine great-grandchildren whom she adored dearly, Gunner, Harley, Michelle, Easton, Westlyn and Jett Benito, Kamila, Jameson, and Thomas III., as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Lily was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Lorenzo, and Socorro; in-laws, Sam, and Irene G.; sister, Sally M. (Rodolfo M), brothers-in-law, Arturo T., and Bobby A; sisters-in-law, Josie J. and Rosemary C. (Edward C.) and lastly her beloved husband Benjamin Sr. who passed just three years ago.

Some of Lily's greatest accomplishments were graduating from Gadsden High School, being a stay-at-home mom, and caring for her two children. They were her pride & joy! She, along with her husband, attended all their baseball and basketball games, band concerts and all events that they were involved in growing up.

Also, a dedicated wife, she loved playing Canasta, Wahoo, Dominoes, and Mexican train with family and her husband. Playing these games with her husband was what she missed most after his passing. They would play and laugh for hours during game time.

Although she no longer cooked and baked, Lily was a "connoisseur of the kitchen", her meatloaf, and mashed potatoes, baked short ribs, chuck roast with potatoes, carrots and gravy, crispy beef tacos, red and green enchiladas with pinto beans and spanish rice, including her Mexican soups like caldo de res, and caldillo. Lastly, her homemade desserts, consisting of cakes, brownies, cookies, and her dreamy fudge during the holidays, were second to none.

At her request cremation has taken place and a Prayer Vigil is scheduled at 4:30 PM Thursday, May 22, 2025, at Baca's Funeral Chapel, 300 E. Boutz Road. The Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 AM Friday, May 23, 2025, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 1327 N. Miranda Street, with The Reverend Alejandro Reyes Celebrant.  Inurnment of cremains will follow at St. Francis Columbarium where she will be places alongside her beloved husband.
