Leonard (PeeWee) Felix Keep of Las Cruces, NM passed away on May 6, 2024.
Leonard was born in Montrose, CO on September 21, 1945, to Leonard and Perena (English) Keep. His early life was spent on the family farm where his life-long ability to tackle any job was nurtured. Over the course of his life Leonard learned, loved, and worked at a variety of jobs including forest service, auto repair, construction and building maintenance. He was a proud veteran of the Navy where he served as a radioman.
Leonard had a strong creative side which showed up in his avocations of gardening, woodworking, painting, sculpture, and storytelling. For many years Leonard enjoyed time on the golf course and was a dedicated student of the game. He was passionate and opinionated and loved by family and friends far and wide.
More than all of these, though, Leonard was a man of faith. His deep love of the Lord guided his daily life. He was truly blessed by his loving parish family.
Leonard is survived by his wife, Peggy; his sister, Marie Evans; Peggy's sisters and brother and their spouses along with numerous nieces and nephews.
A prayer vigil will be held at 10am on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at Saint Albert the Great Newman Center, 2615 South Solano Drive. A Memorial Mass will follow at 10:30am. Inurnment will be at Saint Albert the Great Newman Center Columbarium.
