Larry Galaz, 72 of Las Cruces, New Mexico passed away on March 8th,2024 at Mountain View with his family by his side.

Larry was born in Las Cruces, New Mexico to Eva and George Galaz on March 31st, 1951. After graduating from Las Cruces High School, Larry joined the National Guard and was later honorably discharged. He then went on to work as a carpenter at NMSU and retired after 25 years. During that time, Larry was a proud pig farmer and loved spending time on his property on San Ysidro. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and would tell stories of his adventures to anyone who was willing (or not) to listen. Larry also enjoyed spending his time getting pranked by his youngest son, with his favorite prank being the time that Danny put Bengay in his underwear while he was in the shower. Although he may not have laughed at the time, it sure made his family laugh. He was a huge fan of the San Fransico 49ers and loved to spend Sunday afternoon cooking for his family.

Larry is survived by his wife, Soledad, his sons Randy and Danny (Megan), daughter Lindsey (Cory), his grandchildren Tyler, Casey, Kiley, Gwendolyn, Samara, Ayla, Caleb, Grace (Mini Pearl), Daniel (T-Bone), Esmeralda, Avery, Olivia and his brother Jerry (Lucita).

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Eva as well as his son Brian.

A prayer vigil will be held on Monday March 18, 2024 at Baca's Funeral Chapel, 300 E. Boutz Road. Visitations will begin at 09:30 A.M. Recitation of the Rosary will be at 10:00 A.M. and the Funeral Liturgy will begin at 10:30 A.M. At Larry's request cremation will follow and inurnment will take place at a later date.
