KATHERINE "KITTY" ANNE LAING WALKER was born to Lawrence and Grace Laing on May 29, 1943, in Washington, DC. She grew up in Falls Church, VA., and graduated in 1961 from Bishop O'Connell High School. "Kitty" as she was known to family and friends, attended Mary Washington University, and received a BA in Psychology from East Carolina University in 1966. She was a devout member of the Roman Catholic Church and served in a variety of ministries: Eucharistic Minister, Homebound Minister, CCD Teacher, and others.
In 1966, Kitty was employed with the Federal Government as a personnel specialist until 1980. She was also employed as a caregiver in Las Cruces from 1997 to 2009.
In 1980, she married Timothy P. Walker, and they had 2 children. She is survived by daughter, Alicia Grace (Michael) Walker-Howse, and son Geoffrey Lockhart (Elise) Walker; sister-in-law Elizabeth "Betty" Laing; nieces, Sandra Laing, and Deborah Myers; nephew, Jimmy Laing. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother William Laing, and her husband, Timothy P. Walker.
At her request cremation has taken place and Recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 9:30 AM Saturday, March 15, 2025, at St. Albert the Great Newman Center, 2615 S. Solano Street with the Memorial Mass to follow. Inurnment of cremains will be held immediately thereafter at the Columbarium.
