JULIETTE BARELA SAMBRANO, a beloved lifelong resident of Las Cruces, New Mexico, passed away peacefully at her home on June 23, 2025, at the age of 87.
Born on March 20, 1938, Juliette's life was defined by love, resilience, and devotion to her family and community. She was employed at American Linen, where she was known for her dedication and leadership, retiring as a proud supervisor at the age of 82.
A strong matriarch of a five-generation family, Juliette's legacy lives on through her children: Pat Sambrano (Crystal), Jakie Sambrano, and Sophie Clark (Rudy); numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews; her cherished sisters: Beth Chavarria (Gilbert), Gloria Yanez (Manuel), and Mabel Duran. Her warmth and guidance touched the lives of many relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Manuel Sambrano; her parents, Jake and Elisaida Grittenden Barela; son, Ronnie Sambrano; brother, Jacobo Barela; and dear nieces and nephews—Leonard Chavarria, Davie Duran, and Denise Duran.
Juliette will be remembered for her gentle spirit, unwavering strength, and the joy she brought into the lives of everyone who knew her. Her family takes comfort in knowing she has reunited with loved ones and will remain forever in their hearts.
At her request cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held at 3 PM Saturday, July 26, 2025, at El Calvario Methodist Church, 316 N. Campo Street. Inurnment of cremains will be held at a later date.
