With broken hearts, we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved Julie Corrales, affectionately known as Mama Julz, on August 24, 2025. Julie was born and raised in Lordsburg, New Mexico, on September 23, 1967. She was more than a daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was the light to everyone who knew her.
Julie had a way of making people feel seen, loved, and cared for. She was always the first to lend a helping hand, offering the shirt off her back without hesitation to anyone in need. Her warmth and giving spirit were unmatched.
Julie's greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her sons, Joshua Corrales and his wife Amanda, children Victoria, Joshua Jr., and Zayn; and Joseph Saenz and his partner Amanda, children Anisa, Aidan, and Annaliah. She also leaves behind her loving parents, Nancy and Robert Holguin; her siblings, Phillip (Venessa) and Tim (Jana) Holguin, and Danny and Lisa Corrales; as well as many nephews and nieces who dearly loved her.
She was welcomed into heaven by her siblings Raymond "Choripso", Missy (Corens), and Willie Corrales, who preceded her in death.
Julie, our Mama Julz, will forever be remembered for her selflessness, her heart of gold, and her ability to love without limits. Her memory will live on in her children, grandchildren, family, and the many lives she touched along the way.
Rosary will be recited at 01:00 p.m., followed by the Funeral Mass at 01:30 p.m. at St. Genevieve Catholic Church, 100 S Espina St, Las Cruces, NM 88001. A Celebration of Life will follow the Funeral Mass at the Elk's Lodge, 3000 Elks Dr, Las Cruces, NM 88005.
All who knew and loved her are invited to join us as we honor her memory and the beautiful legacy she leaves behind.
Though our hearts are heavy, we take comfort in knowing that Julie's love will continue to guide us and that her spirit will forever remain with us.
