Julia Lira Valles, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on January 23, 2026. She was born on April 12, 1929, in Durango, Mexico, to Josefa and Senon Yescas. A devoted homemaker throughout her life, Julia created a home filled with love, tradition, and unwavering strength.

She is survived by her sons Francisco Valles, Filiberto Valles (Sonia), and Miguel "Mike" Valles (Colleen); her daughters Maria Feliz McGuinness (Kevin) and Rosemary Gonzales; her brother Luis Yescas; and her sister Isabel "Chavela" Yescas. Julia's legacy continues through her grandchildren—Erin McGuinness (Derick), Kieran McGuinness, Joshua McGuinness,Bryan Valles, Levi Valles, Savanna Valles, Dylan Valles (Angelica), Steven Gonzales, Stephanie Gonzales—and her great-grandchildren Zion, Blake, Zoie, Trinity, Naisha, and Sophia.

She was preceded in death by her parents and by her beloved husband, Frank Valles, with whom she shared a lifetime of devotion and family.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at Our Lady of Health Catholic Church, 1178 N. Mesquite Street. A closed-casket visitation will begin at 9:00 A.M., followed by the Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 10:00 A.M. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M. Interment and the Rite of Committal will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, 5140 W. Picacho Avenue.

Julia will be remembered for her kindness, her quiet resilience, and the deep love she held for her family. Her presence will be profoundly missed, and her memory will continue to bless all who knew her.
