Obituary

Our beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend, JUAN DELGADO, age 84, of Las Cruces passed away Monday, August 17, 2026 at his home, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, ingenuity, and quiet resilience. He was born October 31, 1941 in El Paso, Texas to Ignacio and Francisca Delgado.

Juan spent his childhood running through pecan fields with his brothers. He grew up with a strong sense of responsibility and a natural talent for solving problems. In 1961, Juan joined the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1965. After his time in the military, Juan was a true jack-of-all-trades — skilled in customer service, roofing, construction, and even truck driving. His hands were rarely still, and his mind was always working, fixing, building, or experimenting.

In November of 1965 he married the love of his life, Margaret Rose Bloedorn, and together raised two children; son, Juan Enrique Delgado of Las Cruces and daughter, Francisca Maria Delgado of Phoenix, AZ who carry forward his resourcefulness, strength, and unwavering spirit. Other survivors include his three brothers including their families, three grandchildren, one great grandchild, and numerous cousins and in-laws. Juan was preceded in death by his wife, parents and two brothers.

A graveside committal service with full military honors will be held on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at 10:00 A.M. at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, 5140 W. Picacho Avenue. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of a man who lived with grit, was strong-willed and had a tough exterior but cared deeply in his own way.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in Juan's memory to St. Vincent De Paul 1178 N Mesquite St, Las Cruces, NM, 88001-2255, Chicanos Por La Causa 505 S. Main St., Suite 141, Las Cruces, NM 88001, or Casa De Perigringos 999 W Amador Ave, Las Cruces, NM 88005
