With heavy hearts, we announce that our mom, JOY ANDREWS MARTIN, 82, of Texarkana, Texas passed away Thursday, December 26, 2024. A cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, Joy's warmth, kindness, and enduring spirit touched the lives of all who knew her. Her love for her family was her greatest legacy, and her memory will live on in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandson.
Though we grieve her passing, we take comfort in the knowledge that she is now at peace, reunited with her loved ones in eternity. May we all carry forward her legacy of love, compassion, and strength.

She was born May 25, 1942, in Mesilla, New Mexico, to Ed and Aileen Andrews.

Those left to mourn her passing include two children, Kari Dawn Vander Wilt (Darlo) of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Shawn Martin of Southport, North Carolina. Other survivors include two grandchildren, Trista Hutchinson (Derek) of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Justin Malandris (Taylor) of Tucson, Arizona and one great-grandson Caden Malandris of Tucson, Arizona; as well as a nephew and numerous nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ed, and Aileen Andrews; two sisters, Sharon Waters and Marcia Lynn Haseloff.

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 13, 2025, from 4:00 to 6:00 PM.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at 10 AM at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 5140 W. Picacho Avenue, Las Cruces.

In lieu of flowers, the family appreciates donations made in honor of Joy to be made directly to either the Alzheimer's Association or to any nonprofit hospice care home.

Rest in peace, Mom. You will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
