Joshua Carlo Ochoa Castro, 51, passed away on January 31, 2026. He was born on November 7, 1974, in Deming, New Mexico, to his mother, Ophelia Ochoa Gonzales.

Joshua built a life defined by warmth, generosity, and a deep love for the world around him. A dedicated massage therapist, he brought comfort and healing to countless people through his work. Outside of his profession, he was known for his vibrant spirit and his passion for the outdoors. Whether hiking mountain trails, skiing fresh powder, snowboarding, or skateboarding, Joshua felt most at home under open skies. Music was another constant in his life, a soundtrack to his adventures and quiet moments alike. Joshua was also a wine sommelier and in the fine dining industry serving others and bringing knowledge of wine to restaurants throughout New Mexico and Colorado.

He was a devoted sports fan—an enthusiastic supporter of the Los Angeles Dodgers and a proud, lifelong Denver Broncos fan.

Joshua is survived by his mother, Ophelia; his brother, Adrian Castro his sister, Veronica, Godson Ricky Garcia and nephew Jiddu Castro. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Carlos and Aurora Ochoa, and by his nephew, Jacob N. Garcia.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 20, 2026, at Baca's Funeral Chapel, 300 E. Boutz Road. Inurnment and Rite of Committal will follow at Masonic Cemetery, 760 S. Compress Road.

Joshua's presence, laughter, and adventurous heart will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
