It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of 63 year old Jose Salinas on December 26, 2024. He was born on May 10, 1961 in El Paso Texas to Consuelo and Luis Salinas.

He was a remarkable individual who enriched the lives of everyone around him.

Joe grew up on his family's farm, where he learned the value of hard work and perseverance. He had a remarkable gift for nurturing life—whether it was growing plants from seedlings, raising livestock, or dedicating his lifetime to raising his children into mature and responsible adults.

Fondly known as Joe, he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, always putting family first and cherishing time spent with loved ones. He enjoyed using his many talents to coach, cook, and fix just about anything. An avid outdoorsman, he had a passion for hunting and a keen eye for photography, capturing the beauty of nature through his lens.

Joe worked as a Maintenance Mechanic at F & A Dairy Products before devoting his time to caring for his son Joseph and tending to his beloved pecan orchard. As an animal lover and dedicated supporter of scouting, Joe believed in nurturing a love for the outdoors and teaching others valuable life skills. A true jack of all trades, he was always there to lend a helping hand, tackling any project or challenge with determination.

Known for his sense of humor, Joe brought joy and laughter to all who knew him. He was a talented cook, and his culinary creations were at the heart of many family gatherings. Joe had a special way of living in the moment and reminded those around him to do the same with his favorite phrase: "Don't forget to breathe."

Joe's generosity, kindness, and adventurous spirit will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all whose lives he touched.

Those left to mourn him include his beloved wife Priscilla, sons Andrew Salinas (Angeline) and Matthew Barnhart, daughters Leanna Vasquez (Ben) and Iris Summer Marquez (Dianna Pennycook). He also leaves brothers Alberto Salinas, Luis Salinas, and Diego Salinas, sisters Senaida Duran, Connie Rios, Emma Salinas, Suzy Garcia, Tamara Lopez and Mary Salinas.

He was preceded in death by his parents Consuelo and Luis, sons Andres Ezra Salinas and Joseph Jedrick Salinas.

A prayer vigil will be held on Friday January 3, 2024 at San Jose Catholic Church, 353 Josephine Street. Visitations will begin at 09:00 A.M. Recitation of the Rosary will begin at 10:00 A.M. and the Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M. Cremation will follow and inurnment will be at San Jose Cemetery at a later date
