It is with great sadness we announce the passing of 90 year old Jose Socorro Enriquez on August 24, 2024. He was born November 2, 1933 in Las Cruces to Tomasa and Francisco Enriquez.

Jose Socorro Enriquez, peacefully surrendered to the Lord surrounded by his loved ones. He was a devoted husband to Mary for 64 years, a partnership marked by love and unwavering support.

Joe as he was commonly called proudly served in the United States Navy during the Korean War and dedicated 22 years to the Naval Reserve. After his military service, he completed a fulfilling 33-year career with the United States Postal Service, where he was known for his kindness, commitment, and dedication to service.

Beyond his professional life, Joe was a passionate volunteer baseball coach for the Mesilla Reds and the East Picacho Pirates, sharing his love for the game and inspiring countless young players. He was an avid Milwaukee / Atlanta Braves fan and found joy in working on his tractor, embracing the simple pleasures of life. He will always be remembered for his story telling and witty sense of humor.

As a family man, Joe cherished his role as a loving and providing husband to his wife, faithful father to his four children, and he took immense pride in his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Above all, he was a man of deep faith and devotion, beloved in prayer and a guiding light for his family.

Joe leaves behind a rich family legacy that he was most proud of—a testament to his love, values, and the impact he made on those around him. He will be remembered for his warmth, generosity, and the profound love he shared with all.

Those left to mourn him include his beloved wife Mary, sons Eric Enriquez (Yvette), Brian Enriquez (Ken), Gary Enriquez (Libby) and daughter Veronica Aguirre (Frank). He also leaves brother David Enriquez and sister Dolores Zapien.

He was preceded in death by his parents Tomasa and Francisco, brothers Antonio Enriquez, Gonzalo Enriquez, Julio Enriquez, Francisco Enriquez and sister Maggie Duran.

Visitations will be held at 09:30 A.M Saturday September 7, 2024. at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, 1240 S. Espina Street. Recitation of the Rosary will begin at 10:30 A.M. and the Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. Interment and Rite of Committal will conclude at San Albino Cemetery where Jose will receive full military honors.

Serving as casket bearers include Vincent Aguirre, Michael Enriquez, Zach Enriquez, Ivan Enriquez, Isiah Enriquez and Frank Aguirre.
