Jose Luis (Joseph) Galvan passed away peacefully at home on August 12, 2025, surrounded by the love he so freely gave throughout his life. His unexpected parting created a void not only in our family but in all who knew him.  However, we rejoice in the knowledge that he was welcomed with open arms by our heavenly Father and Lord. Born to Jose De La Luz Galvan and Juventina Esparza Galvan on September 18, 1959, Joseph lived a life defined by compassion, humility, and unwavering devotion to family and his New Mexican community.

Joseph began his career with Leggs Corporation which took him to Las Vegas, Nevada later he chose to return home to support the family business (JG Foods), embodying the values instilled by our parents—ensuring no stranger ever went hungry, regardless of their means. His affable nature and helpful spirit made him beloved by all who knew him. He was a great listener, always offering thoughtful advice and a dry shoulder to cry on when needed.

Family was the heartbeat of Josephs' life. He loved his nieces, nephews, siblings, and extended family with unconditional warmth, never passing judgment and always extending a helping hand—even to strangers. Despite his own health challenges, Josephs selflessly cared for both our parents, ensuring they received their medications in a timely manner and listening patiently to stories from days gone by. After our fathers passing, he became the devoted caregiver to our beloved mother, a role he embraced with grace and selflessness despite his own suffering health. Although his pain was visible, his spirit remained upbeat, always putting others before himself.

Joseph had a fondness for gadgets and everything electronic imaginable, but it was the love of his family that he cherished most. He enjoyed the love of cooking and could often times be found in the kitchen creating one-of-a-kind dishes. Feeding all friends and neighbors who would occasionally visit. Joseph enjoyed the challenges of growing vegetables, plants in general and would spend hours cultivating and watering the pecan orchards along with his garden. His presence is irreplaceable, and his absence leaves a void that material things could never fill.

He was preceded in death by our sister Sandra Garcia, our beloved grandmother and our father Jose De La Luz Galvan. We can only imagine the reunion that awaited him in heaven.

Left to mourn and celebrate his life are his brothers Ruben, Albert, Lalo, Ricky, Danny, and Jaime Galvan, stepson Eddie Fernandez; sisters Concha (Connie) Reed, Rosa Apodaca, Leticia Silva, Patty, and Josefina Ramos. Also survived by countless nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A special thanks is extended to Sonya Garcia, Joseph's confidant and unwavering support.

A prayer vigil will be held on Thursday August 28, 2025 at the Basilica of San Albino, 2280 Calle Principal. Visitation will begin at 12:30 P.M. Recitation of the Rosary will begin at 01:00 P.M. and the mass will be celebrated at 01:30 P.M. Interment and Rite of Committal will conclude at the San Albino Cemetery.

Joseph's legacy of kindness, generosity, and love will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.
