JOSE FAUSTINO CARRILLO, age 69, of Las Cruces passed away Sunday, February 16, 2025, at Mountain View Regional Medical Center surrounded by his loved ones. He was born January 1, 1956, in Durango, Durango, Mexico to Esperanza Alvarado Faustino and Jesus Ceniceros Carrillo. Jose was employed as a farm laborer and a member of the Roman Catholic Church.  Jose loved his grandchildren, was a huge, Dallas Cowboy Fan, loved horseracing and enjoyed buying his pick 3 lottery tickets, but most of all he loved playing his loud music on Sundays for the whole neighborhood to hear. He had a big passion for softball. As he was a coach for La Familia and the Sun Devils. Most knew him as -1- or One-armed bandit.

Survivors include his son, Jose Librado Carrillo; 2 daughters, Estrella Carrillo, and Mona Rivera; 3 sisters, Socorro Salinas, Martha Padilla, and Veronica Ortega; 4 brothers, Jesus Carrillo, Ramiro Carrillo, Carlos Carrillo, and Raymond Carrillo. Other survivors include 8 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Teresa Carrillo, and 3 brothers, Danny, Oscar, and Federico Carrillo

At his request cremation has taken place and the Prayer Vigil will begin at 11 AM Friday, March 21, 2025, at The Basilica de San Albino, 2070 Calle de Santiago in Mesilla. The Memorial Mass will follow immediately thereafter with The Reverend Christopher Williams, Celebrant. Inurnment of cremains will be held at a later date.
