JOSE "PEPE" C. MADRID

April 9, 1937- May 2, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of MR. JOSE C. MADRID, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and great grandfather.

Born April 9, 1937, in Anthony, New Mexico, he is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Maggie C. Madrid; parents, Arcadio Madrid and Canuta Candelaria Madrid; siblings, Josephine C. Avalos, Edwardo Candelaria, Maria Madrid, Magdalena Madrid, Roberto Madrid, Manuela Madrid, Alejandro Madrid, Ramon Madrid, Jesus Madrid, and Angelita Madrid.

Surviving siblings include Herminia Madrid and Fermin Madrid. He is survived by his children; Rudy Sanchez, (Angie), Irene Sanchez, Nancy Villalobos (David) and Sandra Sepulveda (Jesus); grandchildren: Rudy Sanchez Jr., Ricky Sanchez, Rebecca Acosta, Randy Sanchez, Johnny Sanchez, Jaime Sanchez, Jeffery Sanchez, Joseph Sanchez, Jacob Sanchez, Melissa Romero, Cassandra Sanchez, Mary-Margret Sanchez, Erica L. Silva, David Villalobos Jr., Vanessa Martinez, Richard Martinez, Ashley Sepulveda, and Brianna Sepulveda; as well as numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

As a proud Veteran who served in the U.S. Army. He was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 4384 as their quartermaster in Anthony, New Mexico. Where he formed great friendships with fellow comrades. From the family, we would like to express our sincere gratitude to Pepe's medical team for the care, attention, and compassion they provided throughout the years. Their dedication and professionalism brought comfort not only to him but to our entire family. We are deeply thankful for the support and guidance they offered during both routine care and difficult times, helping him maintain dignity and peace throughout his journey

A special thank you to Ricky Sanchez, not only a devoted grandson but also a constant source of strength, laughter, and great support during Pepe's most difficult times. Ricky went above and beyond to ensure that his grandpa was cared for, comforted, and tended to. His presence and compassion brought peace to our family and made a lasting difference in Pepe's life. We are forever grateful for Ricky's selfless love and dedication to help. His actions truly are and will forever be appreciated.

We would like to extend a special thank you and express our deepest gratitude to Mario Infante and Bonnie Valdez, two extraordinary caregivers who gave so much of themselves in caring for both Pepe and Maggie. With unwavering compassion, patience, and dedication, they supported them through the most challenging moments of their lives. Their presence brought not only physical comfort but emotional peace, dignity, joy, and love. Allowing Pepe and Maggie to live their final years surrounded by genuine care and respect.

Mario and Bonnie were far more than caregivers; they became part of the heart of our family. Through every act of kindness, every reassuring word, and every moment of care, they brought light and warmth into their lives. Their love, loyalty, and tireless commitment will never be forgotten. They will always hold a special place in our hearts, and their presence will be cherished by our entire family for years to come.

Funeral services are to be held on Tuesday May 20, 2025, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Anthony, New Mexico, with visitation beginning at 9 AM., the rosary to follow at 9:30 AM continuing with a Funeral Mass at 10 AM. The Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the Anthony Community Cemetery.  Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during this time.

Honored to serve as casket bearers will be David Villalobos, David Villalobos Jr., Javier Silva, Rudy Sanchez Jr., Richard Martinez, Raul Carbajal Jr., Mario Infante, and Armando Lopez.

Honorary bearers will be Bonnie Valdez, Randy Sanchez, Ricky Sanchez, Erica L. Silva, Vanessa Martinez, Ashley Sepulveda, Brianna Sepulveda, and all the Sanchez family from Colorado.

You are free now. Free from the weight of this world, free from the struggles that held you down. You can rest in peace, with no more pain, only comfort, light, and love. Go on smiling, talking, moving with ease, reunited with your beloved Maggie, and may you be surrounded by all the beauty and joy you deserve. Rest in paradise…
