JOSE MANUEL CRUZ ANDRADE, age 52, of Las Cruces, New Mexico, entered eternal life on Sunday, August 2, 2026. Born on November 20, 1973, in San Diego, California, Jose was the beloved son of Yolanda Rebecca Gomez Montellano and Jose Guadalupe Andrade.
Jose was known as a hardworking and dedicated man. Throughout his career, he was employed with General Dynamics for many years in the shipyards in California before relocating to El Paso, Texas in 2006, where he worked as a crane operator for Southwestern Company, a position he took great pride in. Later, he made Las Cruces his home and started his own Landscaping Business.
Those who knew Jose best will remember his contagious smile, generous heart, and willingness to lend a helping hand whenever someone was in need. His kindness and warmth touched the lives of family, friends, colleagues, and the many friendships he cherished through his involvement with the Catholic Men's Group.
Those left to cherish his memory include the love of his life, Dorothy Pacheco Andrade; his stepdaughter, Crystal Fretwell and husband Jay; three treasured grandsons, Ryder, Corbin, and Kaden; his father, Jose Guadalupe Andrade; his sister, Angelica Andrade; and his brother, David Andrade. He also leaves behind his aunts, Elizabeth Andrade and Reynalda Andrade, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members who loved him dearly.
Jose was preceded in death by his loving son, Jose Manuel Andrade Jr.; his mother, Yolanda Rebecca Gomez Montellano; his paternal grandmother, Natividad Ortiz de Andrade; his maternal grandmother, Margret Najera; many aunts, uncles, and cousins; as well as his in‑laws, Leonardo and Estella Pacheco.
Jose will be remembered for his generous spirit and the joy he brought to everyone around him. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Visitation for Jose will begin at 6 PM Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at Baca's Funeral Chapel, 300 E. Boutz Road, with the Prayer Vigil at 7 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 AM Thursday, August 20, 2026, at The Shrine and Parish of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 3600 Parroquia Street, Tortugas, with The Reverend Valentine Jankowski as Celebrant. The Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at Tortugas Cemetery, where Jose will be laid to rest.
Serving as casket bearers will be his loving family.
