It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Jesus Fernandez, age 73, who passed away peacefully at his home on May 22, 2026, in La Mesa, New Mexico. He was born on August 29, 1952, in San Diego, California.

Jesus is survived by his children, Gabriel Fernandez, Esmeralda Fernandez, and Sarah Hurtado (Robert), along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will continue to cherish his memory.

He dedicated many years of hard work to his community, serving as Maintenance Supervisor for Villa Del Sol Mobile Home Park for over 20 years. He later retired from the Office of the State Engineer after 19 years of service.

Jesus will be remembered for his humor, honesty, and quiet nature. He was a man who lived life his own way, feared the Lord, and carried strong faith throughout his life.

He found joy in music, loved singing and playing different instruments, enjoyed traveling, and especially treasured long country cruises.

Per his request, services will remain private and no memorial services will be held.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Baca's Funeral Home. Place of rest will be Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
