Our beloved husband, father, son, grandfather, brother, uncle and dear friend, JAVIER "NUNO" CASTAÑEDA, passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family. Javier was a Veteran of the Vietnam War serving his country in the United States Army. He loved his life always calling it beautiful. He enjoyed being in nature, loved gardening fruits, vegetables, and his favorite flower the Mammoth Sunflower.

Javier watches over his wife Evie; their two daughters, Victoria (Paul), and Marisol (Garland); son Javier III (Yvette); mother, Manuela "Nellie;" his two grandsons, Maxwell, and Hugo Cruz; his sisters, Cecilia Coy (Alfonso), Elizabeth Chavez; brother Jaime, and his nephews and nieces who he loved as his own.

Javier is welcomed in heaven by his father, Javier Sr., and mother, Ramona; brother, Juan "Bobo," and sisters, Magdalena "Nena," and Christina "Millie;" son, Victor, and in-laws, Ray and Betty.

At his request cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held at 1 PM Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at Baca's Funeral Chapel, 300 E. Boutz Road. Inurnment of cremains will follow at Masonic Cemetery, 760 S. Compress Road. Military honor will be accorded by the New Mexico Army National Guard Honor Guard and the Marine Corps League - El Perro Diablo Detachment.
