It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved son, brother, uncle, godfather and dear friend, JASON JOE TORRES, age 38, lifelong resident of Las Cruces. He peacefully entered the Lord's embrace on Sunday, October 27, 2024. He was born June 13, 1986, to Sharon Molinar and Andy Torres. Jason was such a loving, caring person who touched the lives of many. His smile, contagious laugh, and sense of humor will never be forgotten. While we mourn the loss of our dear loved one, we rejoice in his complete restoration and renewed health of his heavenly body. May his spirit live on in our hearts, guiding us with love and cherished memories.

Jason was a devoted sports fan whose enthusiasm for the game was contagious. Whether cheering on his teams, the Dallas Cowboys, and the Boston Red Sox, or enjoying a round of golf, he brought joy and spirit to every match.

From the beginning of his life, he was a miracle, and this was even more true after a vehicle accident that left him paralyzed in 2014. Despite the trials he faced, he lived life to the fullest with the most positive attitude and unwavering perseverance. Not a day went by in Jason's life without Jason bringing a smile to someone's face or joy and laughter to their hearts.

Those left to mourn his passing include his loving mother, Sharon Molinar (Louie Hinojos) of Las Cruces; his loving father, Andy Torres of Salem; his one and only sister, Robin Molinar (Jeff Manzanares) of Colorado; niece, Faith Jimenez, and nephew, Ray Jimenez also of Colorado; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, godchildren, and a host of the most amazing, caring, and generous friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Pete Molinar; maternal grandparents, Pauline, and Bruce Turner; paternal grandparents, Jose, and Virginia Torres; and the most wonderful Tia, Alice Tarin.

Visitation for Jason will begin at 10 AM Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Heart of Mary1240 S. Espina Street with the Rosary at 11 AM. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 AM with the Reverend Alejandro Reyes, Celebrant. Cremation will follow and Interment of cremains will take place in a private ceremony at a later date.

Serving as casket bearers will be Jeff Lenz, Stephen Gallegos, Aaron Holguin, Luis Ramos, Jake Maya, and Tommy Magallanes. Honorary bearers are Ray Jimenez III., Kurtis Molinar, Edward Aranda, Frankie Duran, Mike Macias, and Jason Sauceda.
