Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and dear friend, ISIDORO S. NEVAREZ, age 96 of Las Cruces, passed from this life on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at the Heritage Assisted Living. He was born on July 9, 1927 in Tortugas, NM to Georgia Salvatierrez and Jesus Nevarez.  He served in the Army and was involved in the Korean War. He worked and retired from White Sands Missile Range. Isidoro loved reading, listening to music, going to the gym, spending time with his family, and going for long rides in the country.

Those left to mourn him include his son Lawrence Nevarez (Alice), daughter Eloisa Gutierrez (Arturo) and Rosemary Ziehl (Paul), and son Gilbert Nevarez (Terry). He also has two surviving brothers, Reyes Nevarez from Tennessee and Robert "Don" Nevarez from Tortugas, New Mexico. Other survivors include nine grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Georgia and Jesus Nevarez, his beloved wife Margarita Nevarez, brothers Frankie Nevarez, Ernesto Nevarez, Jose Luis Nevarez, sister Rosie Nevarez, daughter-in-law, Terry Nevarez, son-in-law, Arturo Gutierrez, Sr. and son-in-law, Paul Ziehl.

A prayer vigil will be held on Thursday July 27, 2023 at Baca's Funeral Chapel, 300 E Boutz Road in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Visitation will begin at 6:00 P.M. and Recitation of the Rosary is scheduled to begin at 07:00 P.M. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday July 28, 2023 at 10:00 A.M. at the Shrine and Parrish of Our Lady of Guadalupe, 3600 Paroquia St. in Tortugas, NM. Interment and Rite of Committal will be at Tortugas Cemetery where full military honors will be rendered.

Serving as casket bearers will be Arthur and Joeal Gutierrez, Darwin Smith, Jacob Nevarez, Jason Ziehl, and Isaiah Nevarez.
