IRENE A. CAMPOLLA, of Las Cruces, NM passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, April 12, 2026. Irene was born in Fort Davis, Texas on June 8, 1944, to Eliser and Elvira Alvarado.
Irene was a homemaker and was known for a woman who was devoted around her children and grandchildren who were the center of her life. Her kindness, faith and generous spirit were the foundation of her life. She was also the biggest fan of Elvis Presley and loved dancing. She enjoyed traveling with her children. She was a huge fan of the 49ers and New York Yankees. She enjoyed coloring and puzzles while having her favorite drink Coca-Cola. She also enjoyed talking about her family stories.
She is survived by her loving husband Efren Modesto (Mody) Campolla of 65 years, they built their life centered around their seven children; Lorraine Barncastle (David Maese) of Santa Fe, Arleen Luna of Odessa TX., Ruben Campolla, Efren Campolla Jr. (Sherry), Yvonne Campolla, and Leonard Campolla, all from Las Cruces, Rhonda Padilla (Jesse Padilla) of Saipan.
She was a proud grandmother of twenty-nine grandchildren, fifty-three great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.
She is survived by her four brothers, Joe Alvarado, Gregorio (Dorthy) Alvarado, Tony (Esther) Alvarado, Eliser Alvarado Jr; her five sisters, Lila Hartnett, Dora Molina, Nina (George) Valerio Martina (Gilbert) Granado, and Susie Alvarado. She was preceded in death by her parents Eliser and Elvira Alvarado; her son Ruben Campolla; grandson Charles Ray Campolla, and great - granddaughter Jasmine Melendez.
She will be deeply missed by her loved ones and all who knew her, your memory is a keepsake from which we will never part. God has you in his keeping. We have you in our hearts.
