IGNACIO "NACHO" BUSTAMANTE has gone to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, May 5, 2024. "Nacho," as he was fondly known to family and friends was born May 26, 1939, in Mesilla to Alvina Lucero and Ignacio F. Bustamante. Nacho was a well-known and giving farmer in the Mesilla Valley for 63 years. He was a member of the Eagles and a devout Catholic.

In 1957, Nacho married the love of his life Natalia "Blanca" Gallegos; and together they raised their five beautiful children; two daughters, Dorothy Prieto (Lorenzo) of Mesilla and Natalie Ogaz of Mesilla Park; three sons, Paul Bustamante (Judy) of Las Cruces, Jesse Bustamante (Tina) and Stephen Bustamante all of Mesilla. Other survivors include 14 grandchildren, 19 great- grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.  Nacho was preceded in death by his parents, Ignacio Sr., and Alvina Bustamante; brother, Alcario "Kayo" Bustamante; 8 sisters, Isabel Garcia, Esther Talamantes, Licha Silva, Josephine "Pepa" Rubio, Eppie Misquez, Emma Cross, Alvina Montano, and Mary Banegas; a son-in-law, Rick Ogaz.

Calling hours for Nacho will be from 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM Friday, May 24, 2024, at Baca's Funeral Chapel, 300 E. Boutz Road. The Prayer Vigil is scheduled at 11 AM at the Basilica de San Albino, 2070 Calle de Santiago in Mesilla with the Funeral Mass to be celebrated thereafter with The Reverend Christopher Williams, Celebrant. The Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at San Albino Cemetery where he will be laid to rest in the family plot.

Serving as casket bearers will be Joshua, Isaac and Roman Prieto, Christopher, Devin, and Nathaniel Bustamante. Honorary bearers are Augustin, Angelo and Steven Paul Bustamante, Josiah, and Jezreal Prieto, Paul Andrew Madrid, and Valentine Puentes.
