In Loving Memory of Hijinio Guerrero Hinojos
January 11, 1934 – October 15, 2026
“Well done, good and faithful servant.” — Matthew 25:23
With heavy hearts and profound love, we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, Lito, Nino and friend, Hijinio (Gino) Guerrero Hinojos, who entered into eternal rest on October 15, 2026, at the age of 92. A man of unwavering faith, extraordinary dedication, quiet strength, a strong work ethic, and unconditional love, Gino leaves behind a legacy that will forever live in the hearts of those who were blessed to know him.
Gino was born on January 11, 1934, in Berino, New Mexico, to Juan and Dionicia Hinojos. Raised with the values of hard work, humility, family, and faith, he carried those principles with him throughout his remarkable 92 years of life. He was a man who believed that a person's character was reflected not in what they said, but in how they lived, how they treated others, and how faithfully they fulfilled their responsibilities.
For nearly eight decades, Gino dedicated his life to working the land at Ralph Hackey Farms. His extraordinary work ethic was a testament to his perseverance, loyalty, and commitment to providing for his family. Through early mornings, long days, changing seasons, and years of tireless labor, he approached his work with pride and determination. Farming was more than a job to Gino; it was a way of life. His hands, weathered by decades of honest work, told the story of a man who never shied away from sacrifice and who understood the dignity of earning a living through hard work. His dedication over so many years was truly remarkable and reflected the strength and character of the man he was.
At the center of Gino's life was his deep and abiding Catholic faith. A devout Catholic and lifelong parishioner of Our Lady of All Nations Church, he found strength, comfort, and purpose in his relationship with God. His faith was not simply something he practiced on Sundays; it was the foundation upon which he built his life. As a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus, he demonstrated his commitment to faith, service, brotherhood, and community. Through his devotion to the Church and his steadfast beliefs, Gino set an example of what it meant to live a life grounded in faith, humility, and love.
Of all the blessings in Gino's life, none was greater than his family. He shared 71 beautiful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Maria Louisa Hinojos. Together, they built a life rooted in love, commitment, perseverance, and faith. Their marriage stood as a beautiful example of devotion through life's joys and challenges. Over seven decades, they created not only a home but a lasting legacy of family, traditions, and memories that will continue for generations. Their love story was one of enduring companionship, loyalty, and a promise kept through the years.
Gino was a proud father whose greatest accomplishments could be found not in material possessions, but in the family he helped raise and the generations that followed. He understood the importance of family, the value of being present, and the responsibility of passing down the lessons learned through a lifetime of experience. His love was often expressed through his actions, his sacrifices, and the countless ways he worked to ensure that those he loved were cared for.
Gino also enjoyed life's simple pleasures, especially spending time with his family, playing golf, hunting, and cheering for his beloved Dallas Cowboys. Whether sharing a round of golf with loved ones, enjoying the peace and beauty of the outdoors on a hunting trip, or watching his favorite football team, these moments brought him happiness and created memories his family will forever cherish. A loyal Cowboys fan through winning seasons and disappointing losses, his devotion to America's Team never wavered. These simple joys were part of what made Gino so special, and they will always bring a smile to those who knew and loved him.
Gino lived through more than nine decades of change, yet the things that mattered most to him remained constant: God, family, hard work, and love. He came from a generation that understood sacrifice without complaint, valued a person's word, and believed that family was life's greatest treasure. He did not need recognition or praise for the life he lived. His legacy speaks for itself through the people he loved, the work he accomplished, and the example he leaves behind.
Gino is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Maria Louisa Hinojos; his four children: Ronnie and Susie Hinojos; Louie Hinojos and Sharon Molinar; Danny and Merly Hinojos; and Vicky and Ricky Bouvet.
He also leaves behind fourteen cherished grandchildren: Kristy, Mandi, Tara, Jenny, Jami, Stacey, Mary, Ronnie Jr., Lisa, Cassie, Adam, Jackie, Leilani, and Kuuippo; twenty-four beloved great-grandchildren; and five precious great-great-grandchildren. Each generation is a beautiful reflection of the family he and Maria Louisa built together, a legacy of love that will continue to grow long after his passing.
He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Juan and Dionicia Hinojos; his twenty siblings; his son, Gino Jr.; his daughter-in-law, Marla; and his precious grandchildren, Aaron Mikal, Rachel, Adrian, and Adriana. Although their absence brought sorrow during his lifetime, his family finds comfort in the hope that he has now been reunited with those who went before him in the loving presence of our Lord.
As we say goodbye to Gino, we remember not only the years he lived, but the life he gave to others. We remember the hands that worked tirelessly, the heart that loved deeply, the faith that never faltered, and the strength that carried his family through generations. We remember a man who may not have always needed many words to express his love, because his actions spoke volumes.
His passing leaves an emptiness that cannot be filled, but his family takes comfort in knowing that his was a life well lived, a life of purpose, and a life rich in the things that matter most. The lessons he taught, the traditions he helped create, and the love he shared will remain woven into the lives of his children, grandchildren, and generations yet to come.
Ninety-two years of life. Seventy-one years of marriage. Nearly eight decades of hard work. A lifetime of faith. And a legacy of love that will last forever. Gino Hinojos was a man of remarkable strength, steadfast devotion, and enduring love. Though his earthly journey has come to an end, the impact of his life will never fade. May we honor him by working hard, loving our families unconditionally, remaining faithful through life's challenges, and remembering that the greatest legacy we can leave behind is the love we give to others.
Rest peacefully in the arms of our Lord, Gino. Your work here on earth is done. Your faith has carried you home, and your love will remain with us always.
Until we meet again, may perpetual light shine upon you, and may you rest in eternal peace. Amen.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who have offered prayers, love, and support during this difficult time. Your kindness and presence are a beautiful reminder of the many lives Gino touched throughout his 92 years.
