It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of 85 year old Henry Johnny Torres Garcia on June 27, 2024. He was born November 10, 1938 in Penuelas, Puerto Rico to Virginia Garcia and Gregorio Torres.

As a child, Henry spent his days fishing, crabbing and exploring the jungles of Puerto Rico. Henry joined the Army in 1958, where he was stationed in Fort Bliss,Texas.   It was in  El Paso, Texas where he met the love of his life Elvia Avila and married in 1959. Henry spent 13 years in the military and did two voluntary tours in  Vietnam and  was awarded a Purple Heart. After the military he landed a job with Phelps Dodge Copper Refinery where he worked 35 years and retired with perfect attendance. In his golden years Henry enjoyed fishing and was a huge movie enthusiast.  He will be deeply missed by his friends and family and all who knew him.

Those left to mourn him include his beloved wife Elvia, sons Henry Torres Jr and spouse Kathy, Ricardo Torres and spouse Shasta, Miguel Torres and spouse Julia, and Mark Torres, daughters Erika Fernandez and spouse Jason, and Kathia Torres and partner Jennifer. Also survived by 11 beautiful grandchildren. Siblings Gregorio and Jorge.

He was preceded in death by his siblings Estrella, Concha, Lilly, and Victor. parents Virginia and Gregorio.  Also preceded by his 2 beloved Chihuahuas Sarita and Princess.

A celebration of life will be held on Friday July 5, 2024 at Baca´s Funeral Chapel 300 E. Boutz Road. Visitations will begin at 0830 A.M and the Celebration of Life will begin at 1000 A.M with Pastor Ricky Gomez presiding. Interment and Rite of Committal will conclude at Masonic Cemetery, 760 S Compress Road.
