HECTOR ARTURO TELLEZ URIBE, 79, passed away at his home in Mesilla Park, New Mexico, on Wednesday, January 7, 2026. He was born April 18, 1946, in Anthony, New Mexico.

Hector was drafted into the United States Navy after graduating from Gadsden High School in June 1965. He proudly served during the Vietnam War as an Aviation Machinist's Mate aboard the USS Enterprise (CVN-65), where he worked and frequently flew aboard the Grumman C-1 Trader with Attack Squadron 146. He was honorably discharged in September 1969 after proudly serving his country. During his service, Hector was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal.

After leaving the Navy, Hector returned to New Mexico and settled in Mesilla Park, where he built a life rooted in family and hard work. He spent many years working as a forklift operator for the Biad Chile Company before retiring in 2014.

Known to many as "Caco," Hector was deeply loved by a large extended family that included countless cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends. He had a way of making people feel welcome and valued, and his presence brought comfort, laughter, and connection wherever he went.

Hector loved his children and found his greatest joy in his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who truly meant the world to him. He loved the outdoors, fishing, camping, boating, hunting, traveling and found peace in listening to oldies and classic rock music, which was always playing in the background of his days. He also enjoyed good food, especially sweets, and never passed up the chance to sit down and enjoy a treat. Above all, he cherished his grandchildren, spending time with them, cheering them on, and creating memories they will carry forever. He treasured good music, good company, and time spent with friends where laughter and stories were always shared.

He was also a devoted sports fan. Hector loved the San Francisco 49ers and followed football with passion. Growing up, he favored the Chicago Cubs, but after one of his grandsons began playing baseball, his heart shifted to the Los Angeles Dodgers, a team he proudly rooted for as he supported his grandson. More recently, he even found himself quietly cheering for the Dallas Cowboys in support of his son-in-law and grandson, standing by them and their team through even their rough seasons. Something he'd probably laugh about and deny.

Hector is survived by his children: Arturo Uribe; Lisa Martina Dominguez and husband Javier Sr.; Daniel A. Garcia and wife Rosa; Lina Uribe; Vanessa Uribe Diaz and husband Eric; and Efrain Uribe. Other survivors include his loving grandchildren: Giavanni Uribe, Mariano Uribe, Javier Dominguez Jr., Luis A. Garcia, Carlos E. Garcia, Eva J. Garcia, Audrey Rose Ramirez, Jose Angel Bustamante, Gabriel Patrick Bustamante, Ezra E. Diaz, Noah R. Diaz, and Lucas A. Diaz; and great-grandchildren: Santos Robledo, Sebastian Robledo, and Theodore Lazoya. His loving sisters, Racheal Uribe Loch and Isela Covarrubia (David); brothers, Raul Uribe (Patsy), and Rafael Uribe (Deborah).

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rafael Uribe and Ophelia Telles; brothers, Rafael Jr., Efrain, Reuben, David, and Osias; sisters, Jesse and Elizabeth; and his beloved granddaughter, Britani Inez Uribe Dominguez.

Visitation for Hector will begin at 10 AM, Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, 224 Lincoln Street in Anthony with the Prayer Vigil at 10:30 AM. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated immediately thereafter. The Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery, 5200 Fred Wilson, El Paso, Texas. Military honor will be accorded by the United States Navy Honor Guard.

Serving as casket bearers will be Daniel, Efrain, Arturo, Eric, Ezequiel and Mariano.

Hector will be remembered for his quiet strength, deep love for family, and the steady, honorable way he lived his life.
