Obituary

Our beloved Guadalupe P. Clark passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on December 30th, 2023, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's. She was 85 years old, the daughter of Rosa and Manuel Perez.

Lupe was born on December 9th, 1939, in Las Cruces NM. She was one of nine children. Lupe worked at "Mountain Shadows Nursing Center" for over 30 years before retiring. She then took on the role of a caregiver to her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Lupe's love language was acts of service. She would feed everyone that came into her home. Her most famous dish, an endless number of home-made tortillas. She was a devoted catholic and a member of "Our Lady of Purification" Church. Lupe will always be remembered by her willingness to help anyone and everyone. She was the true definition of a giving person, who never asked or expected back in return. Lupe will be missed by all, but especially by her lifelong Partner Raymond Hernandez. Raymond loved and adored her with all his heart until her last day.

She has now joined her mother and father in heaven along with her brother Enrique Perez, her sisters Magdalena Sosa, Sara Escalante, Felipa Martinez, and her two grandchildren Justin Clark and Jesse Sosa. Lupe is survived by her partner Raymond Hernandez, her siblings Dora Altamirano, Cruz Apodaca, Connie (Concha) Gloria, Rosalia Calderon, and Stella Mendoza, her children Rudy Clark (Sophie), Ricky Clark (Patty), Elias Sosa (Mary Ann), Gina Bencomo (Jeff), Debbie Calzalda (Ricky), Oscar Clark, Larry Clark, Faith Clark, Sofia Hernandez, Sandy Hernandez, Silvia Hernandez, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

We are forever grateful for her caregivers and all the loving support she received until her last day on earth. She will be deeply missed but forever loved and always in our hearts.

Recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 5:00pm Thursday, June 20, 2024, at "Our Lady of Purification" Catholic Church. Mass will begin at 5:30pm. Inurnment of cremains will take place at 10:00am Friday, June 21, 2024, at Dona Ana Cemetery.

"God looked around his garden and found an empty place,

He then looked down upon the earth and saw your tired face.

He put his arms around you and lifted you to rest.

God's garden must be beautiful, He always takes the best.

He knew that you were suffering, He knew you were in pain.

He knew that you would never get well on earth again.

He saw the road was getting rough and the hills were hard to climb.

So, he closed your weary eyelids and whispered, 'Peace be Thine'.

It broke our hearts to lose you, but you didn't go alone,

For part of us went with you, the day God called you home."
