It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Gregoria (Alarcon) Ramirez (92) on February 12, 2025, at her home in Brazito, NM. She was our cherished matriarch known for her warm smile, exceptional cooking, and unwavering love for her family. Gregoria (Goya) was a devoted wife of 62 years to Elias Ramirez (d. 2010), a loving mother to Virginia (Rudy) Nieto, Vicente (Ruby) Ramirez, Maria Elena (Carlos) Valles, Manuel (Ana) Ramirez, Martin (Cindy [d. 2020]) Ramirez, adored grandmother and great grandmother to many.

Goya was born in Ruidosa, TX on March 18, 1932 to Pedro and Felipa Alarcon and was the third of five siblings: Maria, Miguel, Lalo and Jesus. Goya married Elias Carrasco Ramirez in Ojinaga, Mexico on December 29, 1947, when she was 15 years old. Goya maintained a loving home for decades and dedicated her life to raising her family. She was well known for her love of Música Norteña which could always be heard from the front door when entering her home. One was never far from a warm meal and tortillas when in the company of Goya, her love truly showed through her food. A visit to Goya's always ended in "Que Dios te bendiga" and "I love you". We love you too, and always will.

Gregoria is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, as well as her siblings not including her youngest brother, Jesus Alarcon of Denver, CO.

A Prayer Vigil will be held on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at 10 am at Baca's Funeral Chapels, 300 East Boutz Road, with a Funeral Liturgy to follow. Inurnment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, 5140 West Picacho.
