It is with heavy hearts we announce that Grace L. McIntyre (Apodaca), 76, of Las Cruces, passed away on March 13, peacefully at her home.
Grace was born to Nick and Delia Apodaca. She was the second eldest daughter and third of six children. Grace was kind, creative, fun and had immense love for her family.
She enjoyed traveling, spending time at the casino with her siblings and friends, and loved to root for University of Oklahoma football. She was a great cook and baker, loved crafting with her nieces and nephews, and took care of her parents in their later years.
She retired from New Mexico State University as an administrative assistant in the engineering department. Throughout her life, Grace lived in Oklahoma, Texas and California, where she maintained many cherished friendships. She was a member of the Catholic church.
Grace is survived by siblings Tony Apodaca (Minnie), Rose Coca (Joe), and Michael Apodaca (Gloria); sister-in-law Olivia Cardon; godson and nephew Matthew Coca; nieces and nephews Joseph Romero, Juliette Stanton, Janette Gehler, Robert Cardon, Johnny Cardon, Kristina Apodaca, Anthony Jr. Apodaca, Dana Apodaca, Larry Duran and Jocelyn Apodaca Schlossberg. She is survived by many great nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and caregiver Tina Silva.
She was preceded in death by parents Nick and Delia Apodaca, siblings Irene Romero, Alex Cardon, ex-husband Bruce McIntyre, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
A private service will be held for the family.In lieu of attending services, the family welcomes your condolences and memories.
