It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Gloria Vega Flores on June 14, 2025. She was born January 14, 1935 in Deming, NM to Eugenia and Valentine Vega.

Those left to mourn her include her daughters Gina Marie Blackwell, Debra Ann Borunda and Sylvia Dee Flores. Four grandchildren, Danielle Austin, Andrea Blackwell, Ryan Blackwell and Connor Blackwell as well as 3 great grandchildren.  She also leaves a brother Fred Vega

She was preceded in death by her parents, her spouse, Frank Edward Flores, brother Julian Vega and sister Carmen Guaderamma

A prayer vigil will be held Thursday June 26, 2025 at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Heart of Mary 1240 S. Espina Street. Recitation of the Rosary will begin at 02:30 P.M. and the Celebration of the Mass will follow. Inurnment will take place at a later date.

Gloria began her career as a bookkeeper for the City of Las Cruces and was later appointed by Governor Jerry Apodaca to run the Las Cruces Service Center during his administration.  She was a dedicated homemaker to her three daughters and husband and was a regular participant in activities with Mayfield High School.
