GLORIA "LOLIES" ACOSTA TELLEZ, age 84, from Las Cruces, NM, entered eternal life on Sunday, July 19, 2026, surrounded by her family. She was born in San Elizario, TX, to Jesus M. and Epifania Y. Acosta on January 1, 1942. During her early childhood, she and her family lived in Vado and Berino NM, on a farm where they were long life farmers. She attended Loretto Academy in El Paso, TX. She went on to attend Gadsden High School in Anthony, NM, where she enjoyed a variety of school activities singing in a Rock'N Roll Band, she was secretary of the Junior Class, member of Future Homemakers of America, member of the Pep Club, Junior Football Princess, Valentine Queen and was voted "Most Friendly" in her Senior year along with her dear friend Johnny Black. She graduated as part of the Class of 1960 from Gadsden High School. She attended New Mexico State University and graduated from a business school in Albuquerque, NM. While there, she had the opportunity to perform on a live radio station with a Mariachi Band. Gloria went on to continue her business education back in El Paso, TX. She would start her successful career as a secretary with the Coronado Country Club, a bookkeeper with LaRock & LaRock Accounting, and with the family farm, Acosta's Inc., until she retired to help care for her mother. Gloria was married to Jesus Morones on June 9, 1963, had 3 children and later divorced. She then met her husband, Raul B. Tellez, who also had 3 daughters, and became a mother to 6 children when they united in marriage on April 9, 1977. They spent 47 wonderful and joyful years together. They enjoyed their time traveling across the United States, Canada and Mexico where they were fortunate to have made acquaintances across the borders, who later became close friends. Gloria "never met a stranger", and is fondly remembered as "warm and friendly, with a kindhearted soul, funny, and always met you with a beautiful smile". She was always there for her children and grandchildren and was lovingly known as "Grandma Lolies". She loved cheering on her sports teams, whether live or on TV. Her favorites were the New York Yankees, Miami Dolphins, Golden State Warriors and Dallas Mavericks. Gloria loved music whether she was singing, listening to it or playing the piano by ear, even though she lost her hearing a couple of years ago, and her health was declining, she had a strong spirit for living. We will forever be grateful and cherish the many precious and beautiful memories, her loving, caring and fun ways, and her beautiful smile that always lit up a room.

Gloria's survivors include her daughter Monique Gonzales (lnocencio Jr.); 2 sons, David Morones (Lucy), and Andrew Morones (Annie), 3 stepdaughters, Sandra Tellez (Marcus), Anna Marie Maya (George), and Patricia Lucero (Willie).

The marriage of Raul & Gloria blessed them with 22 grandchildren, Jessica Morones, Andrew Morones Jr. (Haydee), Daniel Solis (Pam), Noemi Solis (Jimmy), Sara Silva (Heath), Katie Silva, Jeremy Morones (Cassie), JD Navarro, Justine Branch (Jonathan), Joseph Gonzales (Aracely), Clarissa Chavez (Michael), Alyssa Chavez (Isaiah), Amaris Chavez, Maressa Chavez, Adrian Gonzales (Abby), Mathias Hagan, Cristal Cruz (Ashley), Jake Maya (Mariella), Jeneca Maya Montoya (Justin), Ernestina Pino (Robert), Willie Lucero IV (Hallie) and Cerina Lucero (Justin). 40 great-grandchildren, Mason, AJ, Olivia, Sofia, Jimmy, Santino, Eva, Benito, Leann, Adalynn, Aaliyah, Kaisley, Kyler, Kinzley, Kimberley, Karliann, Kyren, Maddie, Penelope, Brandon, Makai, Jaylen, Marquise, Camila, Santiago, Nicholas, Noah, Ashlyn, Zayden, Aulani, Kaleb, Dredyn, Jason, Wyatt, Wade, Dane, Cash, Wrenley and Waylon; Her sister, Margie Acosta Provencio (George), and a brother, Jesus Acosta Jr. (Mary). She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, godchildren, cousins, an aunt and a friendship list that overflows.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raul B. Tellez; her parents Jesus M. & Epifania Y. Acosta; brother Enrique "Henry" Acosta and a great-nephew Cameron Acosta.

Family & Friends will gather on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 224 Lincoln St., Anthony, NM, with visitation beginning at 10 AM, the Holy Rosary at 11 AM followed by the Funeral Mass at 11:30 AM.

Serving as casket bearers will be her family, Fred Acosta, Jeremy Morones, Andrew Morones Jr., Mathias Hagan, Adrian Gonzales, Justin Provencio, Jake Maya and Willie Lucero IV.

Honorary bearers will be "ALL" her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

At her request, cremation will follow, and Inurnment will take place at a later time.
