Obituary

Genie Mosher, 86, passed away peacefully on June 9, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of faith, love, joy and connection.

She was a woman who never met a stranger.  She had a gift for connecting with people everywhere she went, and her genuine warmth made others feel welcomed and valued.  She was known for her joyful and fun outlook on life, her generous spirit, and the way she shared happiness with those around her.

Her greatest love was her relationship with God.  Her faith was the foundation of her life and was reflected in the way she served others.  She was deeply committed to prayer, often lifting others up, and she found great purpose in serving through prison ministry.  Her love for God was not just something she only believed - it was something she lived.

Genie spent many years teaching business courses to Hatch High School students, and her influence reached far beyond the classroom.  She cared deeply about her students and continued to hold many of them close in her heart.

She found joy in the simple and meaningful things in life - playing piano, baking for others, caring for her turtles and kitties, gathering with friends and family and worshipping at church.  Ordinary moments were made special when she was a part of them.

Genie's greatest treasures were her family, friends, and the many lives she touched along the way.  She will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her kindness, her laughter, and the love she gave so freely.

Her legacy is a reminder to live with faith, serve others, and choose joy.  She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the blessing of knowing her.

She was preceded in death by her husband Dan Mosher, her step daughter Cindy Pitt, her brothers Luke, Leon, Noah, Elbert, Frederick, Phillip, and Marshall Scott, her sister Jewel Downs and her parents Noah and Evelyn (Dunagan) Scott.  She is survived by  her treasured friend Mike Gonzales, her sisters Kathleen Marlowe (William), Christina Scott, June Kofford (Keith), Frances Scott, and Judy Ward and her brother James Scott,  her children and step children David Mosher, Kenneth Mosher (Dana), Cherie Sanchez (Ernie), Kirk Mosher (Cheryl), Kathy Krajewski (Richard), and Denise Evans along with grandchildren Danielle Mosher, Leala Mosher, Christian Townsend (Abbi Rocket), Brennan Townsend, Cara Townsend, Bryce Townsend, Solomon Sanchez (Lynae), Cali Sanchez, Jared Mosher (Jill McDowell), Gabriel Mosher, Christopher Bukaty, Michelle Cast (Cody), Chad Pitt (Nina), Alden Pitt, Michael Pitt, Becky Pitt, Kristel Krajewski, JT Evans, Sabrina Evans, great grandchildren Luna Tellez, Mikayla Moore, Kierin, Jericho and Jade Mosher, Annabelle, Spencer, Evelynn, Caroline, Lennyn and Landry Pitt.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a charity that was important to her, a prison ministry; mysteelbridge.org.

Her celebration of life will be held June 22, 2026, at Calvary Baptist Church at 7:00 PM in Las Cruces, NM.
