Francisco "Ponki" Ramirez II, a lifelong resident of Fairacres, New Mexico passed away on November 22, 2024 after a long battle of heart issues. Francisco was born April 2, 1955 in Ojinaga, Mexico, the son of late Francisco and Elva Ramirez.

Francisco attended Las Cruces High School where he graduated in 1974. He worked a long career in carpentry where he later retired and purchased his dream home on a farm. He enjoyed raising and caring for animals, especially his roosters and horses. "Ponki" loved dancing, watching Old Westerns, attending horse races, listening to country music, and hosting cookouts with family and friends at his home. He was a big fan of the Dallas Cowboys. "Ponki" was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his life partner Connie Quinones; children, Brian Lucas Ramirez Sr., Christine Marie, and Katharine Lee Buczeskie. His brother Rudy Ramirez (Melissa Luna), and sister Aurora Singh. Grandchildren, Brian Lucas Ramirez Jr., Jacob and Zachary Bussey, Troy Edward Francis, Jaxon Kalani and Haven Keahi Scarth, and Steven Gerald Lewis III. Aunts and uncles include Alicia and Enrique Nieto, Dolores Ortiz, and Maria Elena Nieto. Nieces and nephews, Rebecca Millare, Rosie Ramirez, Celeste Barela, Charlie Kyle, and Robert "Bobbie" Ramirez.

Francisco "Ponki" is preceded in death by his father Francisco Ramirez. His mother Elva Ramirez passed away on November 26, 2024.

Visitation will begin at Baca's Funeral Home. 300 E Boutz Rd, Las Cruces, NM from 8:30-9:30am, Wednesday December 11th, 2024, followed by Recitation of the Rosary that will begin at 9:30am at Baca's. A second visitation will be from 10:00am-10:30am, where we will then leave the church. The Funeral mass will be celebrated at the Basilica of San Albino, 2280 Calle Principal, Mesilla, NM at 11:00am on Wednesday. Interment and Rite of Committal will follow at the San Albino Cemetery in Mesilla. Celebration of life will follow at the San Albino Hall.
