It is with heavy hearts and sadness that we announce the passing of our loved FERNANDO MARCELINO MERAZ. Fernando entered eternal life with our heavenly father on December 16, 2023. Fernando was born January 27, 1973, in Los Angeles, California to Juanita Mata and Frank Meraz. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, son-in-law, and friend. Fernando was gifted with the ability to share his love through his food where he shared lasting memories with many friends and family members throughout his life.

Fernando is survived by his wife of 25 years, Amanda Lucero and together they raised their daughter; Aaliyah Meraz. He also leaves behind a son, Jeffrey Reta; two brothers, Frank, and Robert Meraz both of Fresno, CA; four sisters, Nellie Meraz Lira (Genaro) of Los Angeles, CA; Frances Meraz, Jacque Meraz, and Joann Meraz (Raul Calderon) all of Las Cruces; his-in-laws, Edward and Cecelia Lucero; three grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Fernando was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Joan Meraz.

Fernando will be honored in a Celebration of Life Memorial scheduled at 11 AM, Friday, January 19, 2024, at Heart for the World Church, 1605 S. Valley Drive Las Cruces NM 88005

Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him.
