Evangelina A Herrera of Las Cruces NM passed away November 10, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family.

Evangelina was born January 4, 1944, in Camargo, Chihuahua, Mexico to Rosa A Saavedra and Pablo de Villanueva. She was a retired homemaker that loved her music, food, grandchildren, and spending time at home with family.

Evangelina is survived by her only son, Alvaro A Herrera (Elena Herrera) of Las Cruces NM; four brothers, Robert Saavedra of El Paso TX , Efren Saavedra of El Paso TX , Henry Saavedra (Veronica) of Lemitar, NM , David Saavedra of Las Cruces NM; five sisters, Irma Herrera (Ernest) of Mesquite, NM, Elva Delgado (Paul) of Mesquite NM , Olga Reyes of Houston TX , Gracie Hernandez of San Miguel NM , Maggie Herrera ( Danny) of Las Cruces NM; four grandchildren, Javier Contreras (Miriam) Alvaro Herrera Jr , Andrew Herrera , Jaylene Herrera; great grandchild, Itzel Contreras; and numerous nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Rosa A Saavedra and Pablo Villanueva; her brothers, Alvaro Avalos, Freddie Saavedra, and Eddie Saavedra.

A visitation for Evangelina will start at 1pm on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at Baca's Funeral Chapels, 300 East Boutz Road. A Prayer Vigil will start at 2pm with a Funeral Liturgy to follow. Cremation is to follow services.
