EULA MAE ALKIRE, of Las Cruces, New Mexico, peacefully left her earthly home on Saturday, July 25, 2026. She was born January 14, 1930, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, to T. Tillman and F. Chaney.
Eula Mae lived a life filled with faith, love, creativity, and dedication. A devoted woman of faith, she found strength and purpose in her relationship with God and was an active example of grace, compassion, and perseverance throughout her life. Among her many gifts, Eula Mae had a deep passion for singing and painting. Whether sharing a song or creating beautiful artwork, she expressed her creativity with joy. Her greatest joy, however, was her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend who cherished every opportunity to spend time with those she loved. Eula Mae's warmth, wisdom, and unwavering love will always be remembered.
She is survived by her loving son, Jimmy Alkire (Virginia), and daughter-in-law, Leigh Alkire; her grandchildren, Brooke Simpson (William), Ana Perez (Daniel), Joshua Alkire (Erica), Christina Terrazas (Christopher), and Lydia Terrazas (Andrew); and her cherished great-grandchildren, Elijah Alkire, Emma Alkire, Lainey Terrazas, Eleanor Alkire, Avery Terrazas, Adaline Perez. She is also survived by her sister/best friend, Wilma H. Cook and those she loved like family, The Bencomo's. A special thank you to the Aristocrat Staff who cared for her in her final months and moments.
Eula Mae was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 64 years, Wesley R. Alkire; her sons, Donald Alkire and David Alkire; her great-granddaughter, Leila Terrazas; her parents; and several siblings.
Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at First Baptist Church, 4201 N. Sonoma Ranch Blvd in Las Cruces. A family graveside service will follow at 2 PM at Restlawn Memorial Park, 4848 Alps in El Paso, Texas, where she will be laid to rest beside her loved ones.
Serving as casket bearers will be Joshua Alkire, Elijah Alkire, Daniel Perez, Christopher Terrazas, Andrew Terrazas, and Richard Bencomo.
Eula Mae's legacy of faith, love, resilience, creativity, and devotion to family will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
