Obituary

Our beloved mother, grandmother, and dear friend, ESTHER LECHUGA LOZNAO, 93 of Anthony, Texas entered eternal life on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at her home with her loved ones at her bedside. She was born December 7, 1930, in La Union, NM to Enriqueta Duran Garcia and Jose S. Lechuga. Esther was an active member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church where she served as an Alter Society Member, was a Catechist for over 30 years as well as an usher. Her love and devotion to her family will never be forgotten.

She is survived by her children; 2 sons, Edward Lechuga (Alice) of El Paso, TX; and David Lozano of Houston, TX; 3 beautiful daughters, Grace Montanez of Anthony, TX; Terry Portillo (Norberto) of El Paso, TX; and Frances Black (Darrell) of Anthony, TX. Other survivors include 13 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren. Mrs. Lozano was preceded in death by her loving parents; her husband, Cruz V. Lozano; daughter, Alice Morales; granddaughter, Erika Haynes; brother, Bernie Lechuga; sister, Delia Howland; and her son-in-law, Alfredo "Tuffy" Montanez.

Visitation for Mrs. Lozano will begin at 10 AM Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 224 Lincoln Street in Anthony where the Prayer Vigil is scheduled at 10:30 AM.  The Funeral Mass will be celebrated immediately thereafter. The Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the Anthony Community Cemetery, 750 Acosta Road where she will be laid to rest alongside her loving husband in the family plot.

Serving as casket bearers will be Frank Balderrama, Norberto Portillo III., Joe Belmontes IV., Isaiah Montanez, James, and Cody Black.
