She was born December 26, 1929, in San Miguel, New Mexico to Valentin and Mercedes Bustamante. In 1950, she married the love of her life, Alejandro Madrid, and together they built a life centered on love, family, and faith.
She is preceded in death by those who surely welcomed her with open arms: her husband Alejandro, her parents, her 10 brothers and sisters, her son-in-law, Alfredo Garza, and great-grandson, Enrique Mata Jr.

She was a woman who deeply loved her family and treasured every moment spent with them. She enjoyed sewing, horse racing, wrestling, casinos, camping, fishing, and spending time in the lomas. She had a wonderful sense of humor and loved telling jokes that brought smiles and laughter to those around her.
Peppy was also known for the warmth she showed to everyone who entered her home. No one ever left without receiving one of her heartfelt blessings. She loved and made the best red New Mexico chile, red enchiladas were her specialty, and she carried the spirit and traditions of New Mexico with her throughout her life.
Peppy will be remembered for her loving heart, her strength, her laughter, and the many blessings she shared with her family and friends. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will live on for generations.
