Esperanza Camacho, 98 of Madera, California, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family and friends on May 18, 2026.
Esperanza Camacho was born on April 21, 1928, in Guadalupe Zacatecas Mexico to Refugio and Luz Lopez. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She loved volunteering at the "Senior Serving Seniors" program at the Pan-American Community Center in Madera, California. She received numerous awards and certificates for volunteering from the Governor and Lieutenant Governor of the State of California, and numerous federal, state and local officials. She enjoyed doing arts and crafts including: handmade Santa Clause and Mrs. Clause, Thanksgiving turkey centerpieces, Easter bunnies, Halloween pumpkins, knitting beautiful clothing and crocheting baby blankets, scarves and ceramic decorations. Her greatest love was for her children and especially her five granddaughters who were her pride and joy.
Our mother will be remembered and cherished for her homemade tortillas, tamales, buñuelos and traditional Mexican food. She would always welcome our friends and neighbors to have a delicious meal with freshly made flour tortillas. She was known for her quiet demeanor and her sweet personality with a beautiful smile.
We appreciate and are grateful for all the help and support we have received from the following during this difficult time. Especially Sergio Pando, Mary Elisalde and family, Ermelinda Sanchez and Manuel Sanchez, the Gonzalez family, Monica Gamboa, Molly Gamboa, the Gutierrez family and Hilario and Patricia Guerra to mention a few.
Esperanza is survived by her children Carmen Camacho; Ismael Camacho (Heather Saffell); Sebastian Camacho Jr. (Martha Lopez); Juanita Granados (George). Granddaughters: Alyssa Granados; Melanie Camacho (Sergio Pando); Karina Granados; Eva Camacho; and Destiny Camacho; honorary daughter, Fela Trejo, and numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
She was preceded in death by her husband Sebastian R Camacho, parents Refugio and Luz Lopez and siblings Jose; Josefina, Carmen, Jose Luis, Rafael, Maria Luisa, Amelia and Refugio Jr.
