It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Ernesto "Neto" Madrid, who departed this life on May 5, 2025 at the age of 79 at Mimbres Valley Medical Center in Deming, NM.

Neto was born in El Paso, Texas, to Louisa and Ernesto Madrid, Neto embraced life fully. For 60 years plus, he dedicated himself to the open road as a truck driver. Above all else, Neto cherished his family. His children, grandchildren, and his mother held the most significant place in his heart.

Neto was the embodiment of selflessness, consistently prioritizing the needs of others. He was a devoted father, a loving grandpa, a caring uncle, and a loyal friend, always ready to offer a helping hand. In his later years, he found great purpose in caring for his mother and treasured the time they shared.

Neto's memory will be held dear by his two children, Ernest Madrid and Priscilla Carabajal (Adrian); his six grandchildren, Diego Dominguez, Crystal Medrano, Christopher Madrid, Arturo Madrid, Julian Madrid, and Sarah Madrid. He is also survived by his beloved mother, Louisa Valdespino; his brothers, Johnny Madrid, Danny Valdespino and Ruben Valdespino Jr.; and his sisters, Marion Marrujo and Irene Baeza; and his longtime partner Amanda Lopez.

He is reunited in peace with his father, Ernesto Madrid; grandparents Ramona and Julian Bernal; and his brothers, Julian "Lon" Madrid and Eddie Baeza.

A visitation for Neto will be held on Monday, May 19, 2025, starting at 10am at Holy Family Church, 622 South Copper Street, Deming, NM.  A funeral mass to honor and celebrate Neto's life will start at 11:00 am, followed by a burial at Mountain View Cemetery, Deming NM.

Serving as casket bearers will be Ernest Madrid, Adrian Carabajal, Priscilla Carabajal, Julian Madrid, Arturo Madrid, Johnny Madrid, Gilbert Q. Pacheco, and Elias Chavez. Diego Dominguez (US Navy) and Christopher Madrid (US Army) will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Neto's boundless love, generous spirit, and his appreciation for a simple life will forever resonate in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all.
