It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of 34 year old, Ernest De La O on August 11, 2024. He was born July 22, 1990 in El Paso, TX to Lucy Arguelles and Ernesto De La O.

Ernest was a devoted son, brother and uncle. He loved life and lived it to the fullest. He was adventurous and enjoyed exploring new things. The impact he left in the hearts of those who knew him will never be forgotten. Ernest will be remembered by his contagious laugh and uplifting spirits.

Those left to mourn him include his parents Lucy Arguelles and Ernesto De La O. Eldest sister Rachel De La O and his nieces Maribel Gutierrez, Ebony Diana Garcia, and Vianey Rodriguez. Youngest sister Michelle De La O and his nieces Ruby Ray Collins and Raquel Ray Collins.

He was preceded in death by his Grandfather Antolin Arguelles. Grandparents Enriqueta and Bruno De La O. Brother-in-law Mario Rodriguez, and Nephew Zachariah Guzman.

Casket bearers include Ernesto De La O, Steven Melendrez, Javy Guzman, Edmund Guzman, Enrique Diaz, Ceazar Mendoza, Alex Zamora, and Jacob Barela. Honorary casket bearers are Michelle De La O and Isaiah Alcala.

A prayer vigil will be held on Thursday August 15, 2024 at Baca's Funeral Chapel, 300 E Boutz Road. Visitations will begin at 05:00 P.M. and Recitation of the Rosary will begin at 07:00 P.M. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M. on Friday August 16, 2024 at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, 1240 S Espina Street. Interment and Rite of Committal will conclude at Masonic Cemetery, 760 S. Compress Road.
