It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved Mother, Sister, Aunt, and Grandmother Erlinda Florez on July 25, 2024. She was born in Mesilla NM. to Juanita and Atenojenes Acosta.
In her life, she was employed for many years at Neleigh Laboratories as a lab assistant, and was a devoted homemaker who always put her family first. Her love for her family and community was evident in her everyday life. Linda enjoyed catching up with family, friends and neighbors. For many years, she was a guardian to a special needs nephew and found great joy in tending to her two birds. She took pride in her independence, still driving around Las Cruces, and she was dedicated to supporting veterans' organizations through donations.
Those left to mourn her include her daughter Alicia Florez, and sons Daniel Florez (Lorelei), Chuck Florez (Yoli) and Robbie Acosta (Edna). She also leaves sister Mary Helen Torres, as well as 12 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, her sisters Celia Perez, Dora Sanchez and Sara Gamboa, her brothers Larry Acosta, Manuel Acosta, Frank Acosta, Guadalupe Acosta and Henry Acosta.
