ENRIQUE HERNANDEZ, age 51, of Las Cruces, entered eternal rest on Sunday, September 6, 2026. Born August 27, 1975, in El Paso, Texas, to Marisela Perez and Elias Hernandez, Enrique grew into a hardworking, devoted, and deeply family‑centered man. He worked in construction as a laborer, where his strong work ethic and steady presence earned the respect of many. A man of faith, Enrique was a member of the Catholic Church and carried his beliefs quietly but firmly throughout his life.

Enrique’s greatest joy was his family. He is survived by his wife, Denise Castillo Salazar; his loving mother, Marisela Hernandez; his three sons, Enrique Elias Hernandez, Xavier Peter Hernandez, and Nathaniel Hidalgo; and his daughter, Ashlie Nicole Hernandez, all from Las Cruces. He also leaves behind two brothers, Elias Hernandez Jr. of California and Gary Parra of Colorado; two sisters, Dorinda Hernandez of Texas and Adriana Caballero (Candelario Avalos) of Las Cruces; and five cherished grandchildren—Aliyah, Ariya, Adrian, Amariah, and Auriella who brought light and laughter into his days. Enrique is also remembered by numerous nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his father, Elias Hernandez, and his brother, Richard Hernandez.

At Enrique’s request, cremation has taken place. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at 2:30 PM Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at Baca’s Funeral Chapel, 300 E. Boutz Road, with the Liturgy of the Word to follow. Inurnment of cremains will take place at a later date.

Enrique will be remembered for his quiet strength, his devotion to his loved ones, and the deep love he carried for his family. His presence will be profoundly missed and forever treasured.
