Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and dear friend, ENEDINA LARA APODACA, entered eternal life on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at La Posada Mesilla Valley Hospice. She was 93 years old. Born May 16, 1932, in Gary, New Mexico, to Paula Rey and Manuel Lara, Enedina grew into a woman whose life was defined by devotion—to her family, her faith, and the home she lovingly nurtured.
A dedicated homemaker, Enedina poured her heart into raising her children and supporting her family with quiet strength, warmth, and unwavering love. Her gentle presence and steady guidance will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know her.
She is survived by her loving children: her son, Mike Apodaca (Dora) of Las Cruces; and her daughters, Linda Apodaca (Randy) of Las Cruces, Norma Flores (Raymond) of Albuquerque, and Sandy Kelly (Tim) of Houston, Texas. She is also survived by two brothers, Manuel Lara Jr. of Garfield and Ray Lara (Sandy) of Phoenix, Arizona; and two sisters, Frances Vega (Tony) of Norwalk, California, and Cleofas Ogaz of Garfield, New Mexico.
Her legacy continues through her 10 grandchildren, 12 great‑grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews who cherished her deeply.
Enedina was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Donaciano "Don" E. Apodaca, who passed away in 2010; her brothers Johnny, Jose, and Robert Lara; her sisters Celia Talley and Isabel Madrid; and her grandson, James Pina.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at Our Lord of Mercy Catholic Church, 120 Hartman Street in Hatch. The Prayer Vigil will follow at 10:30 AM, and the Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM with Reverend Ivan Torres as Celebrant.
The Rite of Committal and Interment will take place at the Garfield Cemetery, where Enedina will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband.
Honored to serve as casket bearers are Donnie and Dorian Apodaca, Aidan and Logan Kelly, Kristopher, Jason, and Kevin Pina.
Enedina's life was a testament to love, faith, and family. May she rest in eternal peace, reunited with those who went before her and forever remembered by those who remain.
