EMILIA HIDALGO, 82, of Las Cruces, New Mexico, passed away Thursday, August 27, 2026, leaving behind many beautiful memories for those who knew and loved her.
Emilia was a beautiful and gentle soul who brought a special kind of joy to the lives of those around her. She had a sweet, youthful spirit and found happiness in the simple things in life.
Emilia experienced the world in her own unique and beautiful way. She had a loving heart, a gentle nature, and a precious innocence that remained with her throughout her life and will always be remembered and cherished. Emilia loved being around children, enjoyed coloring, completing word searches, playing cards, and caring for her treasured baby dolls with her sweet and nurturing spirit.
Emilia also loved to dance. At family gatherings and fiestas, she was often the first one on the dance floor, ready to enjoy the music and celebrate. Dancing brought her so much happiness, and her joyful spirit on the dance floor is a memory her family will always treasure.
Emilia was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Jesus and Refujia Hidalgo; her brother, Sixto Hidalgo; her sisters, Pauline Bustillos, Cuquina Calzada, Delfina Clark, and Consuelo “Connie” Contreras; and her infant siblings, Benjamin Hidalgo, Ascencion Hidalgo, and Beatriz Hidalgo.
She is survived by her sister, Herminia “Minnie” Baldonado (Victor); and her brothers, Jesus Hidalgo Jr. (Delia) and Crecencio Hidalgo (Emma), along with her extended family and loved ones.
Emilia will be remembered for the warmth and happiness she brought to her family and everyone, fortunate enough to know her. She found joy in the moments that meant the most to her. Whether she was dancing at a fiesta, spending time with children, playing cards, or caring for her baby dolls, Emilia embraced the things she loved with a joyful heart. Those simple and precious memories will forever hold a special place in the hearts of those who loved her.
Though she may no longer be with us in person, her sweet and gentle spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Emilia will be deeply loved, dearly missed, and never forgotten.
