Elvira Ruiz Flores, beloved mother, sister, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on December 22, 2025. She was born on November 12, 1957, in Colonia Díaz, Chihuahua, Mexico, to Aurora and Manuel Ruiz.

Elvira built a life defined by hard work, generosity, and devotion to her family. She worked for many years as a cook, sharing her talent, warmth, and love through the meals she prepared. Her kitchen was a place of comfort, laughter, and connection—an extension of her giving spirit.

She is survived by her sons David Flores, Eduardo Ogaz, Javier Flores, Jesus Flores and Julian Flores; her daughters Claudia Ogaz and Amanda Flores; her brothers Fernando Castro, Enrique Castro, and Martin Castro; and her sisters Angela Ruiz, Enriqueta Maldonado, and Julia Ruiz. She also leaves behind many extended family members and friends who will forever cherish her memory.

Elvira was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Angel Flores; her brothers Manuel Castro and Benjamin Castro; and her sister Aurora Valenzuela.

A funeral service honoring Elvira's life will be held on Monday, January 12, 2025, at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, located at 1240 S. Espina Street. Visitations will begin at 10:00 A.M., followed by the Recitation of the Rosary at 11:00 A.M. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 A.M.

Following the services, cremation will take place, and Elvira will be inurned at the IHM Columbarium at a later date.

Elvira's legacy of love, resilience, and kindness will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
